17 September 2005 Nine club members traveled 320 km to Serowe to handover 13 wheelchairs to handicapped individuals. 11 were handed over at an official ceremony at the Mall Then President Tony plus Rotarians Derek and Yash went and delivered the remaining 2 wheelchairs to the recipients at their homes as they had been unable to attend the ceremony. The Rotarians and their families then when on to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary for a weekend of fellowship. Everyone went on a game drive in the late afternoon and then had a braai in the evening hosted and prepared by the "Un Naked Chef" Ignatius.

23 September 2005 The day started early for President Tony and Rtn Rapula when they attended the Gaborone Secondary School assembly at 0650 hours. President Tony presented a prize of P 1 500.00 to Moinul Delwar for winning the essay competition on the subject of water conservation. A donation of P 1 500.00 was handed to the school. Later in the morning President Tony presented a P 1500.00 prize to Vicky Kasule of Rainbow School who had won the poster competition. The school also received a P 1 500.00 donation. 24 September 2005 PDG Cliff Peak and his team (DGE Chris Pretorius, Blondie and Ian McGlashan) provided the clubs of Botswana South with a very informative and interesting seminar on the Rotary Foundation and World Community Service. The seminar was also attended by DG Maria Luisa Natividade. Dr Marc Aguirre of Hope Worldwide gave a brief overview of Anchor at the Foundation seminar in the morning and then gave a full presentation in the afternoon. |
